As unique individuals we reserve the right to moderate our own personal page, which at PEN it is called, "My Work Room" as well as blogs submitted as "Poems". In addition, we understand that to critique a poets work or a person may not protect one's dignity as he or she may be in process of searching their own self awareness. For this reason, our comments made to another person's literary work is made toward better understanding of one's self as well as appreciation toward the poets work. Should a critique be warranted, and would like to be helpful, to the other, it is advised this is done so by private message. In offering critique toward literary structure; it behooves us to ask the question, WHY, the poet offered a poem that is a departure from purity. "Poetry aspires to purity; poems do not" ~~~Robert Penn Warren

Poet Expression Network or PEN is a community of poets who recognize the powerful use of chosen words that encourage insight or beauty of expression without damnation within our chosen work or to other poets. Our poems are literary composition written with intention, integrity, intensity or beauty of language more characteristic of poetry than of prose, though both are welcomed and encouraged. WE ARE............

Welcome ~ you have entered "Main Lobby"

Before checking into your room you may want to enjoy our lobby. The left corridor is a link to Poets Expression Principles and Terms of use. If you had not read it yet, please set aside to read. Scroll down and you will enter our opened Inspiration Center. Join any group(s) that resonate within you or explore your creative ability and create a group. Every castle has secret passages, portals, that take you on an exciting adventure. We have them too... some of our groups offer you to enter into those secret places.....

To the right is an opened corridor which will be viewed from every room or gallery you enter. This or Middle corridor are various activities to which you may ignore or participate in. Though I do hope you read information provided or you may find yourself lost... You will also find a list of recent added creative pieces from our community. Notice you may scroll down at that module to find a list of 20 posted poems, prose, or poetry.

To find your room, click on tab "My Work Room"... Change the theme of your page or leave it as is.

Enjoy PEN's castle!!! Visit other members work room or personal page by clicking on their photo, relax read poetry, share ideas and interests with others. Inspired, then seat yourself in your workroom, go within your poetic soul and bring it out to pen..at blog...

I do recommend if you are so inclined to sharpen your craft in poetry. Join us at group "Poets Round Table" for FREE GROUP lessons

Fresh Powder

By Tom King (c) 2012 A Texas boy, I’ve never seen   Fresh powder, soft, nearly dryIt kicks up on my boot toes   As I pass shuffle-footed alongside the dogTwo pair of footprints and a row of holes   Where my cane punctures the pristine sheet of snow. It’s night now – me and the dog   Lookin’ for a place to pee. She’s…See More

What Christmas Is All About

Anticipation begins and gradually kicks in, While shopping days wane and disappear. Excitement blends in and slowly transcends,As traditions and good tidings reappear.Children grow restless, as school days dwindle,Their lists continue to grow.Moms and Dads spend and find ways to rekindle,The holiday spirit they know.Houses are…See More

HAPPY 51ST ANNIVERSARY DEAREST ! ! !

As the time has flown,Our love has grown .While being with you,Till death do we part,Is still the longing,That's deep in my heart.Happiness like this,Has been my granted wish.We now wait together, In total bliss;Waiting to meet, Out Christ in the air;Together, we will rise up, To meet HIM there,For all eternity,In our home so fair; The one that Christ Jesus, Prepared for us there. BY:   SHEILA WEAVERAKA:  PEACEFULLYABIDINGSee More

The Well

In a deep dark dank wellThe sides are oh so slipperyMy fingers grasp at nothingnessScraping at sleek, wet, dripping wallsDampness all around meWhat is this empty, aching feeling in my chest? So tired, and lifeless, weary eyelids heavyAm I drowning in this well?Slowly filling with the tears I cannot shedOr can I raise my eyes up to the lightTread water, and rise?See More

A Single Flower

A SINGLE FLOWER A single flower, standing still,is touched by the morning, but still feels the chill. Its fragile petals are bent in despair, cold and lonely, weighted with care. But as the morning slips into day,the flower revives, for the chill does not stay. Its petals once bent, reach for the light, grasping its warmth, freed from its plight.Just as the flower stood lonely and still, fearing the darkness, fighting the chill. We stand alone, fearing the night, cold and despairing, searching for…See More

A Leper (Mk 1:40-41)

A LEPER (Mark 1:40-41) A leper came unto the Lord -his need for all to see.His body wracked with pain, longing to be free.A leper came unto the Lord -crying out with grief.Begging for deliverance, and longing for relief.A leper came unto the Lord -and fell upon his face. His heart with faith believing,in God's abundant grace.A leper came unto the Lord -and worshiped at His feet. His heart cried out for mercy, his attitude ... so sweet.Jesus saw the leper's need -felt his pain and grief. His heart…See More
